Give a project a name the team will recognize. You can add more detail later; the important starting point is knowing which work belongs there.
Creating a project requires project-creation access and available plan capacity. Editing an existing project's settings can require organization-admin or project-admin access.
Create a project manually
- Select Create and choose Project.
- Under Create from, choose Manual.
- Enter Project Name and choose the Project Type that fits the work.
- Fill in relevant details, such as a description or URL. For an iOS app, enter the Bundle ID if you know it.
- Select Create Project and check the new project in Projects.
- Add the team afterward using the project's Manage area, as described below.
Adding or removing project team members can change access for people limited to selected projects. Review the intended access with an organization admin if someone cannot open the project.
Start from GitHub
Connect your GitHub account in Personal Settings, then Integrations. In the project form, choose GitHub under Create from, find the repository, review the filled-in details, and select Create Project.
If the repository is missing, check the connected account and its selected GitHub sources before trying another import.
Edit details or team members
Open the project and choose Manage. Update the name or description and select Save Changes. To update its team, open People and approvals, change Project team members, and select Save Team Members. A project can use different wording for its team controls.
Check the saved project after either change. Do not assume that assigning someone to the team changes their organization role.
