Archiving and deleting serve different purposes. Archive a project when you want it out of the active list but may need it again. Delete it only when you intend it to enter the removal process.
This walkthrough is for organization admins. Some project admins can archive their own project, but that does not grant deletion or deleted-project recovery rights.
Archive a project
- Open Projects and identify the project.
- Choose Archive in its row, or open Manage and find Archive Project in Danger zone.
- Read and complete any confirmation.
- Check the Archived view to confirm where it went.
Archiving preserves the project data. Use the Archived view's restore action, or Unarchive in the project's Manage area, when you need it active again.
Delete a project
Choose Delete for the project, read the recycle-bin warning, and select Delete Project only if you intend to proceed. Check the Recycle Bin afterward.
Deletion has a retention window. Use the deadline shown for your organization; do not assume another team's retention period applies to yours.
Restore from the Recycle Bin
- Open Projects and choose Recycle Bin.
- Find the project while it is still available for recovery.
- Select Restore and check the result.
- Return to the active project list to confirm it is available.
Restoring can be blocked by active-project capacity. If that happens, review the displayed limit before trying again. A project whose retention window has passed may no longer be recoverable.
